Sip&Stroll Support
A little sip. A little stroll. A cat by your side.
Sip&Stroll is a free iPhone and iPad app for water and walk reminders. It has no ads, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or account requirement.
Get in touch
Email miaojitale@gmail.com with the subject “Sip&Stroll support”. Include your app version, iOS version, and what you expected to happen. A screenshot can help. Please do not send backup files or sensitive personal information unless we ask for them to investigate your request.
In the app, open Settings > Contact support to email us or copy the address. If no email app is available, use the copied address in your preferred email service.
Your name and language
Open Settings > Your name to set an optional name for personalized reminders, such as “Alex, time for a sip.” You can preview the wording before saving. Clearing the name restores general reminders. Your name is included in local backups.
Open Settings > Language and choose Follow system, English, or 简体中文. The interface changes immediately, and pending reminders and widgets refresh in that language. Follow system uses your iOS app/device language. This preference stays on the current device; restoring a history backup does not change it. The Home Screen app name follows iOS language settings.
Set your rhythm
In Settings, open Water reminders or Walk reminders. Choose the first and last reminder, interval, and weekdays. Each activity has its own schedule. In version 1.2.0, every check-in—including the last of the day—stays open for the first 85% of its reminder interval (51 minutes for an hourly reminder). Pause all reminders when you need a break and resume when you are ready.
A reminder did not arrive
Check that the activity is enabled, today is a selected day, and reminders are not paused. Allow notifications for Sip&Stroll in iOS Settings. Focus modes, Scheduled Summary, and Lock Screen preferences can change when and how notifications appear.
Open Sip&Stroll after changing time zones so your schedule follows local time. Dense schedules may use a rolling notification queue; Today and Settings show the date through which reminders are queued. Reopen the app before that date to refresh the queue.
Done, Snooze and Undo
Check-ins become available when a scheduled reminder is due. Complete water and walking separately. Snooze lasts ten minutes and is available only when that time fits within the response window. Undo corrects a tap while that window is still open. Expired check-ins are read-only. Dismissing a notification does not complete a check-in.
Choose your cat and add a widget
Settings > Your companion lets you choose Honey, Mochi, Pepper, Orange, or Maple. Hold your Home Screen, choose Edit > Add Widget, and search for Sip&Stroll. Small and medium Home Screen widgets and the rectangular Lock Screen widget support water and walk check-ins. When a break is due, tap its row to check in; tap it again to undo. Future breaks show their scheduled time, and paused or disabled reminders cannot be checked in. Tap outside the controls to open Today. Home Screen widgets show still cat poses and remain silent.
Hold a delivered reminder to expand its cat and controls. Tap the speaker within a scene for optional sounds. Sounds are off by default and stop when the scene closes. Reduce Motion can replace animations with still poses.
The final 15% of an interval is quiet time: check-in closes, and your cat peeks over the Home Screen widget edge with “Next check-in opens soon.” After three consecutive missed reminders for that activity, the peeking cat looks sleepy; a successful check-in resets the streak. Another activity’s open controls remain available. Completing the final outstanding check-in shows the daily recap cat immediately, while Undo remains available until the original cutoff.
Understand your progress
Progress shows completed, missed and to-do check-ins for Today, 7 days or 30 days. The progress bar is completed divided by total, including remaining check-ins. There is no Skip action; older skipped records count as missed. Paused time adds no new check-ins. Tap a day to see its history, or open Older history for days outside the latest 30. History has no automatic expiry. Past-day cards can be saved to Photos or shared; saving asks for add-only photo permission.
Five daily recap poses match the completion bands 0–20%, 20–40%, 40–60%, 60–80% and 80–100% (a boundary such as 20% belongs to the next band). Your cat greets you from 6 AM until the first scheduled reminder, and says good night from 10 PM until midnight. From midnight to 6 AM, and after the day's reminders until 10 PM, the daily recap cat is shown. Open check-ins always keep their controls.
Collect the cats you meet
Each companion has 16 collectible poses. The collection and count in Progress belong to the cat currently selected in Settings. Switching companions reveals that cat’s own collection; it does not erase either one. Cats join the collection when you see them in the app or an expanded notification, or deliberately tap the cat in a widget. Walking frames count as one walking cat, and drinking frames as one drinking cat. Looking at a silhouette does not unlock it.
Tap a discovered cat’s information button to see how and when you met it. Collect all 16 for a little celebration; Reduce Motion keeps it still. Reset collection asks for confirmation using your companion’s name and clears only that cat’s discoveries. Check-in history and other companions’ collections stay intact. Backups include your discoveries.
The app records check-ins you make. It does not measure water volume, walking time, distance, or steps, and does not prescribe personal health targets.
You can also open Settings > Write a review to share your experience on the App Store.
Back up or move to another phone
In Settings, choose Export backup and save the file somewhere you trust. On your new device, choose Restore backup and select that file. Confirm replacement after reviewing the backup details. There is no automatic cloud sync. Backup files contain your settings and history and are not encrypted by Sip&Stroll.
A restore preserves a local recovery copy. Use Export last recovery backup if you need it. If a saved file becomes unreadable, the startup screen offers Recover from backup and preserves the unreadable original first.
Delete your data
Export a backup first if you may want your history later. Delete Sip&Stroll using iOS Settings to remove its app data; Offload App preserves data. Delete any exported files and device backups separately where you stored them. There is no account to close, and the developer cannot delete or retrieve your on-device history remotely.
